Why can't I *accurately* set a Favorite?

I've just bought a subscription, only to find that I can't set a Favorite with any accuracy. When I position the base of the "flag" on the spot I need, there is a pulsing white beacon some distance away, and when I save the Favorite and return to it, it goes to where the beacon is, not to the location I set the flag base. It used to be much simpler in older versions. Also, your map coordinate references are very different to Google Maps. If I copy their very accurate coordinates and paste into Windy, I'm 500 metres off where I should be.
Please tell me how to fix this - I'm already, after just one day, thinking of canceling. Thank you.

Hi, are you talking about the app or the website, on desktop?
On the phone app, when you press the screen at a location, the weather picker (the flag) is shown at a fixed position and you need to shift your chosen location under the picker. Otherwise you open the meteogram at this fixed location.
