Remember Zoom
-
Hey, love the app, but the only frustrating thing I'd love to see changed is the level of Zoom on start up. I thought maybe I would get ability to set a Zoom level when I became a premium member but seems not.
When I open the app, it is centred on my favourite location but does me no good if I can also see the entire East coast of Australia - a distance of about 3,000kms.
I would love for the app to remember, or be able to set my preferred Zoom level so when it starts, it's centred on my favourite location with a Zoom of maybe 3km (or whatever I choose).If this is already possible and I'm missing something please let me know!

@toddjconklin
It is much better to have an overall view of the East coast to understand the coming weather and then to zoom in.
Or if you want only to know the weather at your location, save it as favorite and when you open Windy, just click on the favorite icon to get local weather prediction on Meteogram.BTW 300km would be OK, but 3km is nothing ! Remember that resolution of default weather model is 9km !

One could also use API parameters when opening Windy.com (full API details here).
E.g. instead https://www.windy.com, save in your favorites URL this one: https://www.windy.com/?-25.960,153.032,14; it will always open a big scale map (zoom=14) centered on position (25.96° N, 153.032° E).
This way you can also display by default your favorite data layer (any parameter forecasted at any hPa level by your favorite model which covers the position area), e.g.:
- https://www.windy.com/-Temperature-temp?800h,temp,16.167,-14.405,4
- https://www.windy.com/-Rain-thunder-rain?250h,rain,4.792,-56.142,9
Thus the simplest is to configure your map as you wish , then to save current URL as a favorite on your web browser.
You can also save different URLs with different map settings, thus different map coverage, zoom and data layers content, available via single click on web browser favorites bar.

@vsinceac got to appreciate when someone asks a question and the response goes another direction possibly not considering other use cases, butttttt. I need same as OP. Im not interested in macro. I’d like to open the app on mobile and have it default to my daily surf spot. Im not flying, boating, driving, or doing anything outside that spot that day;). Search continues;)
