WX alerts not timely

I live on Monterey Bay in California. I’m a sailor. My family are ocean oriented. We’ve lived here for 40 years. When I want surf, wave, wind, barometric or other data and ALERTS I need it usually for about 2 to 12 hours, rarely more. I
am not interested in data for 24 hours from now and most certainly not for several days hence. I don’t see any way to shorten the forecast duration in the current wx alerts. I certainly don’t need to be alerted today for example, for winds that are in the Small Craft Advisory range but not due to arrive on the bay for days in the future. Thus, the current alert notifications are of little use and are becoming an annoyance.

Please recommend an alternative alert set-up if possible.
