weather radar timeline not present and future

why is it only able to play up to 7 minutes ago?
rain and thunder can be played into the future so why not weather radar? -

A REAL weather radar cannot predict future rain. It visualises past and present rain not more. -
On Windy, Rain, Thunder are both parameters with computed values, provided by some weather forecast models.
Weather Radar products (with values in dBz or mm/h), are issued from real time observations with Doppler radars, thus they are not available into the future.
More recently, Nowcast models compute the movement of radar echoes up to 3 hours ahead of time, based on past radar echoes and other weather data. E.g.:
- Radar Integrated Nowcasting System (aka. RaINS) in Malaysia. One nowcast runtime is provided every 10m (thus at high frequency), with forecasts in [00m, +10m, ... , +170m, +180m]. I don't think such a product is available for free; a demo is available here
- MeteoBlue claims providing Radar Nowcast, see details here; I cannot find any on their site (maybe not available on free version)

@idefix37 maybe a good addition would be an animated guess like the others switching to a graphical overlay at the point it no longer becomes real time.
Just an idea and would be much easier to read than the rain/thunder animation.
Also the option to toggle animated wind speed and direction on the radar map would be neat.
Saves switching between visuals to read whats possibly ahead. -
@psyaum Hello, if you want forecasted precipitation, you can use already available layers on Windy such as Rain, Thunder or Rain accumulation.
