Regarding visibility, does the gray zone mean that the visibility is more than 16 Km ?

Roughly, the answer is YES.
In details, this is a known issue (color shading palette legends are truncated on UI maps), discussed in this thread.
As a workaround, just take a look to the current palette settings for your data layer (menu Settings / Customize Color Scale).
