Using Windy Tiles without Leaflet (mapbox)

I'd like to use Windy's raster tiles without the leaflet map and #windy div, but it seems impossible to initialize windy without providing the container element. If possible I'd like to initialize the windy store and read it's tiles via L.getTileUrl and render those tiles instead in mapbox with. deck.gl's TileLayer. Is it possible to use windy without instantiating the leaflet map?
