Understating temperature

I have noted that in my location (Malta - mid Mediterranean) the daily highest temperature is consistently being understated by at 3 - 4 degrees Celsius. Actual temperature today (for example) is 34 degrees and it's 31 degrees on Windy app

@markgrech Hello, have you tried other models to compare the result? Windy visualizes forecast data not real-time values.

Malta is not a big island. The resolution of the ECMWF model is 9km which is about the width of your island. Temperature, or other parameters, shown on Windy are thus interpolated between grid points separated by 9km distance. So there is chance that one of two grid points are above the sea, where the maximum daily temperature is cooler.
The Observation vs forecast tool shows that the default model is not the best for your location. ICON-EU and METEOBLUE models are much better for temperature prediction in Malta. They have a better resolution.

@korina Comparing to the Malta International Airport (MIA) 6-day highest temperature forecast, right now:
Saturday: MIA - 34, Windy - 30
Sunday: MIA - 33, Windy - 28
Monday: MIA - 33, Windy - 29
Tuesday: MIA 33 - Windy - 30;
Wednesday: MIA - 31, Windy - 29;
Thursday: MIA - 30, Windy - 29From my experience the actual values are always closer to the MIA forecast.
