      You should create a new layer called “rainfall intensity.” Often that is the most critical metric in storms as it will predict flooding in local areas. It would equal amount of rain in inches or cm’s per hour.

        I think there are already two forecast data layers which would do the deal:

        • Rain: last 3h accumulation for every forecast validity time
        • Rain Accumulation: next [12h,1d,3d,5d,10d]

        Avaliable measure units are inches or mm by m² and by time period (in meteorology, cm is rarely used for precipitation).
