I think even posts deleted by the author himself should not be listed (I cannot see any usage of them)...

I don’t know exactly. Probably an issue in getting the radar data from BOM, as it only concerns Australia.

After deleting a post the author has (or may be not) the possibility to purge it, and makes it disappearing.

But I don’t know if everyone has rights for it. Try it and confirm it or not.

Nope, author has only controls Edit, Restore and Flag (I've just made the test with post above)

Those "deleted Posts" makes the forum very confusing, i have to scroll a lot to search topics.
