Widget on Android

The widget on Android (11, samsung S10) works one of out five times in average. It normally shows either blank (with only the controls) or "Failed to retrieve forecast data", refresh doesnt work and when I tap on widget the app opens and afterwards the widget works for a while. The app works perfectly.

Not sure if this is directlyrelated,but I also have issues on a similar configuration (android 11/samsung).
In my case, the widget displays fine but is showing network (geoip) location as current location not the GPS location. When I refresh the widget, it displays the correct location and weather. Any chance someone is updating the widget / android code recently?

@dmarks Hello, did you please allow Windy to use your GPS location? You should also have GPS as your default location in the app's settings.

I've started having this same issue recently. My work takes me on the road frequently and I usually stay a distance from the work site so I set the widget location to the location of the site instead of my GPS location. When I change the widget settings back to GPS after leaving the job it will continue to show the previous location I had selected. I can refresh the widget and it will show the correct location for a short period of time but then revert back to the incorrect location again. I have location turned on, GPS location set to the startup location, and I've tried everything else I can think of and this issue persists. It's really frustrating that the only option I have at this time to fix the problem is to uninstall and reinstall the app. Hopefully this gets addressed soon.

@korina Same issue here. Location preference is enabled, when opening the app it can refresh to my current location just fine.
However, the widget reports an old (stale) location and takes me to that location when opening the app

@asgeirn Hello, did you try to set the location manually in the widget? You can choose from the current location or from favorites.
