TS Kompasu making landfall in Hainan Province

TS Kompasu is tracking westward over the South China Sea and is likely to maintain its intensity before making landfall in Hainan Province, China.
The storm is later forecasted to weaken and continue over Hainan Island and Gulf of Tonkin. Kompasu can make another landfall in Nghe An Province, Vietnam as a weak tropical storm or strong tropical depression.
Yellow typhoon warning has been issued for coastal areas of Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, and Zhejiang as the storm is expected to bring strong winds and heavy rainfall.

Hong Kong authorities raised a second No 8 typhoon warning signal as the severe tropical storm Kompasu (Maring) moved southeast of the city. Number 8 typhoon signal is likely to remain in effect till Wednesday morning hours.
The city's public transportation is disrupted as the storm brought wind speeds of 100 km/h. Strong winds will be also accompanied with heavy rainfall in the following hours.
Kompasu is moving towards Hainan Island after battering western and northern Philippines with flooding and landslides.

Tropical storm Kompasu is moving south-southwest at 25km/h and it is carrying maximum winds of 101km/h.
As the storm moves closer to the Hainan Island, Taiwan has issued torrential rain warning for Yilan, Hualien and Taitung counties in eastern Taiwan.
Hong Kong may raise Storm Signal No. 8 between 4 and 6 pm as tropical storm Kompasu moves closer to the territory.
The storm's outer rainbands are expected to bring showers and squalls to Hong Kong tonight with local winds also strengthening.

Tropical storm Kompasu (MaringPH) is positioned east of Aparri, Cagayan travelling west northwestward at 15 km/h. Maximum sustained winds are 85 km/h near the centre.
Storm may pass very close to the Babuyan Islands today afternoon local time, while landfall in mainland northern Cagayan is still not out of question.
Torrential rains are expected in Northern Luzon today as the storm approaches.
Taiwan has issued a torrential rain warning for New Taipei and the eastern counties of Yilan and Hualien as it is being affected by outer bands of Kompasu.
