Hurricane Pamela makes landfall

Former tropical storm Pamela made landfall as Category 1 hurricane on west-central coast of Mexico near Estación Dimas, Barras de Piaxtla and Sinaloa Mexico.
Hurricane had maximum winds of about 75 mph at landfall and brought hurricane-force winds and life-threatening storm surge to the area. System is expected to quickly weaken as it moves inland.
Remnants of storm will reach Texas and Oklahoma by Thursday and may cause considerable flash and urban flooding.

Tropical storm Pamela is currently regaining its hurricane strength in the Pacific off Mexico as it is expected to make landfall as a hurricane near the port of Mazatlan today.
Pamela is moving northeast at 12 mph with maximum winds of 60 kt at the moment.
Life-threatening storm surges, flash floods and dangerous winds are expected within the Hurricane Warning Area.
Heavy rains will affect the Mexican states of Sinaloa and western Durango along with southern portions of Baja California Sur. Rains from remnants of Pamela are later expected across central Texas and southeastern Oklahoma.
