<p dir="auto">Hurricane <strong>Rick</strong> made <strong>landfall</strong> on the west coast of Mexico early this morning local time, bringing heavy winds 105 mph (168 km/h) and rains (5 to 10 inches).</p>
<p dir="auto">Heavy rains will likely produce <strong>flash flooding</strong> and <strong>mudslides</strong>, residents in the southern parts are advised to stay indoors.</p>
<p dir="auto">Rick is forecast to move further inland over southern Mexico throughout Monday and then rapidly weaken. Storm should dissipate over the mountainous terrain of southern Mexico tonight or Tuesday.</p>

<p dir="auto"><strong>Rick</strong> has slightly strengthened during the October 24 night while heading for landfall on Mexico’s southern coast.</p>
<p dir="auto">Maximum winds are 90 mph (144 km/h) and landfall is expected to be somewhere in the area from the seaport of <strong>Lazaro Cardenas</strong> to the resort of <strong>Zihuatanejo</strong></p>

<h4>Update: 24th of October, 6:00 p.m. UTC</h4>
<p dir="auto">Hurricane <strong>Rick</strong> is nearing the Mexico’s Pacific Coast, where it is expected to make landfall Sunday night or early Monday The system is moving north with winds of 85 mph (136 km/h).</p>
<p dir="auto">Rick is forecast to strengthen and develop winds as high as 105 mph (162 km/h). <strong>A hurricane warning</strong> is in effect for points west of <strong>Acapulco</strong> all along the coast to <strong>Punta San Telmo</strong>.</p>
<p dir="auto">As it reaches the land, Rick is expected to bring flash flooding with mudslides, torrential rains and hurricane-force winds.</p>
