For weather forecast along valleys surrounded by big mountains, best is to use national models with small grid cells. Or even better, real time satellite or radar imagery.
For your location, use rather model AROME than models with continental or worldwide coverage; e.g. ECMWF grid has a resolution of 9km, while AROME grid has a resolution of 1.3 km (see below cloud coverage forecast comparison AROME vs. ECMWF).
And btw., don't blame the mailman... Windy.com doesn't compute the weather forecast, it just displays models computed and provided by big meteorological centers.

You could also compare weather forecast provided by all available models for your location. Here also, the AROME local model is the best (a priori clouds will cover soon the valley in the afternoon, then the rain will follow...).
