Requiring Update of Offline Maps

I LOVE your Android offline maps in Windy Maps. We travel across the US and frequently are in areas without cell phone or other internet coverage so I have downloaded the maps for all 50 states.
My Problem/Suggestion: The app frequently requires that I download map "updates" before I can open any offline map and this normally occurs when I am out of internet coverage (and am not able to download map updates). In addition, even when I have 100Mb/sec internet access, it takes over 24 hours to download the map updates for all 50 states so I can again use your offline maps
Is it possible to allow a user to postpone or bypass the map update and still use the maps? That simple change would make your app so much more useful to me.
