Cyclone Ana is located near 16.3S 38.8E with maximum winds of 83 km/h. The system is moving westward across the Southern Region of Malawi. Threat of strong winds and heavy rainfall remains.

The first named storm of the 2022 Southwest Indian Ocean cyclone season Ana, made landfall over Mozambique with maximum sustainable winds of 85 km/h today, in the early morning hours. The storm has formed on Sunday and continued to intensify overnight.

Ana is currently located near 15.8S 42.1E with maximum winds of 83 km/h. The system is forecasted to weaken as it moves predominantly westward during the next two to three days. Ana will likely not affect South Africa.
