    Current Radar - VS - Weather.gov

      Right now there is a major storm bearing down on the Northeast US, yet Windy's radar shows a very small signature of it. Seems like just the core of the storm rather than scattered precipitation -- which in a snowstorm can have a cumulative effect.

      Compared to the Weather.gov signature it's tiny. Is there a way to change the radar model for different echos and such?

      The actual radar -vs- the forecast differs widely too. It's not obvious how the current radar signature could manifest into the predicted snowfall.

        Look in detail to the radar products shown by NWS. The grey color does not seem to correspond to real precipitation.

          @idefix37 I see them as immediately adjacent to green which is higher than zero. No purple.

          It's snowing outside my window right now on Long Island NY. Not just flurries.

          Look at the difference between the two maps of LI.
