Forecast temperatures are being included for spot locations on the map, even when the another layer is being shown ... ie precip, wind, etc. This problem has only recently shown up, not sure how to get rid of this and have the proper value shown instead

What do you mean with ‘proper value’? Do you want to see the wind forecast at shown locations when you select the Wind map?
You just need to tick Forecasted weather in bottom right corner of your screen, or in menu of the mobile app.
