Weather radar sensitivity / calibration
-
Hello,
While I was in Canada it seemed that the weather radar information was more useful than in France, where I am now. When there was blue colors on the radar it was raining just a little bit, so the color scale was well calibrated to the radar data. In France, often when it does not rain a lot, but still rains!, Windy's radar shows nothing. It really has to rain quite a bit to be visible on Windy's Radar. MeteoFrance, the national weather provider, provides radar information that is much more sensitive and therefore, useful.
As an illustration, I provided below the difference between Windy and MeteoFrance radar information (not the best day as it is not raining a lot, but you should see what I am talking about though)

I understand that Windy is just using third party radar information, but I am curious to know how this information is being processed by Windy.
- I believe there are different radar data providers for each countries or at least different regions of the world. Are they providing exactly the same information and therefore you can apply the same color code/scale/calibration ? Or is the data different and therefore each needs its own color calibration?
- In any case, is it possible to adjust the color calibration around the French area (I cannot speak for different parts of the world)?
Thank you!

Well it seems it's not just only for France, I saw a similar post for the US: https://community.windy.com/topic/19305/current-radar-vs-weather-gov

@pavbin Hello, we use a different rendering for radar images, but thank you we will consider it for the future.
