Closed footpaths

Hi I’m trying to plan to walk sections of the Saxon Shore Way in Kent. The footpath is now black which I assume is closed, however that’s just one small section of a very long footpath, at the moment you black the whole 100 miles instead of just the closed section ? Thanks
