Windy Maps merges with Mapy.cz

Dear users, we would like to inform you that the Windy Maps application has merged with the Mapy.cz app and from 31st May the app will only be available under the name of Mapy.cz.
Until 31st of May, you can transfer all of your data from your Windy Maps's account into Mapy.cz.
Please note, that Windy Maps will not be functional after 31.5.2022, it is thus necessary to transfer your data before this deadline.
Instructions how to transfer your data are directly in the Windy Maps application version 2.7.0. Please update to the latest version.
Windy Maps and Mapy.cz share the same development team, therefore the transition between the apps should go untroubled. The interface of Mapy.cz is almost identical to Windy Maps, so you will get everything you already know plus new functions to use on top of that.

It looks like it is not possible to transfer downloaded maps? One has to download them again?
Also, mapy.cz is run by Seznam, the "Czech Google", that runs many services along a wide portfolio, which begs the following questions:

@korina what a disaster most of other site is not English even if selected. Mail content is not English either. Guess it’s time to say goodbye to what was the best maps app.

@Korina I agree with pom47, as much as I used 'windy maps' it's time to move on to a different map app. When trying to use 'My maps' you need to set up a new account with Seznam.cz. Apart from the fact that the initial screen in 'My maps' is in Czech, Seznam then does not recognise Australian phone numbers to set up the account. You're just making it all too difficult. Surely you had somebody test this prior to announcing the move!!!!

@mangobiker Hello, downloaded maps cannot be transferred. You can simply download them again from Mapy.cz.

I have transferred my account to. Mapy.cz and deleted windymaps from phone. Does this remove downloaded maps please or do I need to delete them to free up storage. Can't find them on Samsung android phone so not sure if still on device or not! Where should they be stored?

@halloways Hello, if you delete the app, associated maps will also be deleted. You will need to download them again from Mapy.cz.

For those of us who purchased windy premium for the maps - we should just cancel this now, right?
I had a look and too much of the interface surfaces in non-English outside of the maps and there is a lot more tracking on their website.

@buro9 Hello, as mentioned above, this has nothing to do with Windy.com application. Windy Maps is a separate app for route planning and it has merged with Mapy.cz. Windy.com is a different application.
