X map closer button

In this situation, there is only an X for the bottom half of the screen. I want there to be an X also for the top half of the screen. In other words sometimes we just want to see the day-to-day predictions and not cause the map to waste data as we move the days forward..

I am saying normally we just want to see the map, and no day to day predictions.

But sometimes we only want to see the predictions, but no map (which would be a waste of data traffic.)

So there should be a way...
