There is also a problem with the widgets on Android 12. It is a bug in Android and we can't do anything with it. Here is a manual on how to solve it – https://www.digitbin.com/widgets-not-updating-on-android-fix/.
What isn't mentioned in the article is enabling 'Personalize using app data' in the device's settings.

I already had wiped the cache and the app data. I had uninstalled and then reinstalled the app from Play store. The problem is still there. Only when I choose the windy widgets (all other widgets are okay) the launcher crashes.
