Last night two fires broke out in the woods surrounding the Entombed Chernobyl reactor in the heart of Ukraine.

Fire fighters were prevented by Russian Soldiers from putting the fire out.

The issue with this is that the soil is still full of radiation and the radiation gets absorbed by the trees. It makes it's way into the leafs. The fallen leafs then become radioactive. Each leaf is not dangerous but collectively they carry a massive amount of radiation.

A full blown Forrest fire in this area could be a world affecting event -- releasing all that radiation back into the air.

Windy is my go to resource for watching this. You can tell which way the wind is blowing and if radiation levels are rising.

      Thank you Windy!!

Today, Mar 27 2022, it appears radiation levels in Ukraine are a little higher. Has anyone else noticed this?
