Widget: Size not able to change to 5x1

After the update to Built: 2022-04-14, 12:50, the widget on my Pixel 6 is not running anymore. The widget had the size 5x1. Now I experienced with the updated version, it is not able the change the standard size from 4x2 to 5x1. Can you please make it able again.

@ragingsquirrel Hello, we have made this change a few months back, widget format 5x1 or 4x1 is no longer available due to technical reasons.

Is this likely at all to change in the future?
It now takes up quite a large area with a huge buffer border around the edge, it feels like it's taking up too much space / under utilising the space it's taken.
