Creating an account

Users can use 2 forms of registrations to access Windy.com and those are traditional email registration and Social login. Let's have a closer look at each of these options below.

1. Email registration

Windy account can be created either on desktop - https://account.windy.com/register or directly within the Windy.com application (iOS/Android).

To edit your Windy account, go to My profile -> Profile.

2. Social login access

Social login offers another method of registration besides the classic email registration to access Windy.com in a smooth and easy way using existing login information from a social network providers Facebook, Apple, or Google.

How does social login work

You can use social login in several ways, depending on whether you already have a Windy account and want to connect social profile with it or you are a new user and want to use social login as your only form of login.

1. Connecting with existing accounts

a) You already have a Windy account and social login has the same email address as your Windy account:

If the email matches an existing Windy account, social login will be paired with the Windy account and you will be logged in right away.

b) You already have a Windy account, but social login has a different email address than your Windy account:

You can pair Windy account with your Social login by going to your Windy profile -> Authorizations and select which social login you would like to connect. If you want, you can pair your account with all three social platforms (Facebook, Apple ID and Google).

Note: One social login can be assigned to only one Windy account. If you want to use social login for a different account, you must delete it from the current account first.

2. Creating a new login

You can create completely new account by choosing one of the three social options (Facebook, Apple ID, Google) and access Windy solely via your social profile in case you do not have a Windy account.

Revoking access

If you don't want to use social login anymore, you can visit Windy profile -> Authorizations and remove login there. Whether you later decide to use the login again, you will be able to access your account as you left it, because we save data from your first login.

Removing Windy login manually:

To manually remove Windy login from your social profile, visit: Facebook, Google, Apple.

Apple login

Apple provides a feature to hide your email and use Apple proxy email instead. Therefore if you try to connect your existing Windy account and select the "Hide email" option, Apple login will not pair with your Windy account, it will instead create a new account.

Apple provides us your name only in the first login. If you delete your account or delete our Apple identifier, new registrations from your account will not have name set properly. In case of any troubles, remove Windy login from Apple and try it again. Profile picture is not imported, since this feature is not supported by Apple yet.

Problems with logging in

If you are having issues using social login to get into your account, use reset password option. In case you are not sure which email you used, try to find the "Welcome to Windy.com!" email that has been sent to you while you created your account.

Email password reset

To reset your account password, visit https://account.windy.com/reset.

If you don't see the reset email in your mailbox, please check your spam folder and make sure you are in the right inbox in case of multiple email accounts.
