When I pick a certain point and check the forecast with the basics for more days (Window popping up on the lower part of the screen) for which Level will the wind be shown? Always "ground"? For example if ich pick a mountain 1600m high, will it be the wind at the peak which is shown?

Yes, when the altitude slider is set to Surface, all parameters are theoretically shown at ground level, including in mountain. If you place the picker on a mountain at 1600m, the wind is shown near the ground at this location. But it is difficult for a weather model with a 10km resolution to include all terrain details with a high precision.
