      Hello everyone,

When using the webcam API's camera feeds that have a square image have the same image again behind it, stretched and blurry. This is really weird and unnecessary. Especially when embedding the images somewhere.

      Example:

      windy original image.jpg

      Highlighted the unnecessary/duplicated area:
      windy original image marked duplication.jpg

I have access to the WSDOT cameras as well and this bug is not in the original data feed, so it looks like a bug on Windy's side. Any chance this can get resolved? Or is there a way to query the API differently?

In some cases I can workaround this using a different data feed, but in other regions where I don't have that option this problem persists.

The same issue can be observed on the website: https://www.windy.com/-Webcams/United-States/West-Virginia/Pleasant-Valley/US-97-at-MP-27-1:-Satus-Pass/webcams/1459260569?45.983,-120.860,11

or also when accessing a camera directly:

@skofgar Hello, the webcam displays like this due to cropping. I have changed the settings and the webcam display correctly now.

Hello @korina, thanks a lot for fixing it. This issue applies to a lot of Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT) cameras and Oregon (ODOT) as well?

a few more examples are here:

Is it possible to apply these cropping fixes in bulk across both data providers.

To clarify, I think a few hundred cameras by ODOT and WSDOT have this problem.

@skofgar Hello, after looking into this matter, we do not plan to change the cropping at the moment as it could cause some issues with other webcams.

Hello @korina, thanks for letting me know. That's really unfortunate, because it makes it really hard for people to view those cameras.

Is there a better workaround/solution for this?

For example is there a parameter in the API to request a non-cropped version or at least an attribute that would inform whether the image we're receiving is cropped?

@skofgar Hello, there is currently no workaround. Also we do not have an option to filter out cropped webcams.
