I just turned the app on for the first time, to check wind speeds, why does it say the temperature is 30° in Venice FL?

If you just turn on the app for the first time, the temperature is set to Celsius by default not Fahrenheit, and as you are living in USA I guess you prefer Fahrenheit.
You need to change temperature units in Windy Settings.
