How can I change the weather model as default?
-
Every time I start the app, ECMWF comes up.
As a Swiss, I would like to have METEOBLUE preselected. How can I change this? -
@brunoth Hello, model Meteoblue cannot be preselected as it is model, which is only available in the detailed forecast.
In case you would like to set a different model as default, you can do so by going to Settings -> Start-up layer and location -> Start-up layer -> choose Use last overlay.
If you choose this option, selected model and layer will be saved as your default. -
Hello @Korina,
I’m sorry but this doesn’t make any sense. You wrote, “model Meteoblue cannot be preselected as it is model, which is only available in the detailed forecast.”ECMWF and MBLUE are both listed at the bottom. When selected, they appear under the label “Fcast Model” as shown here:
“Fcast Model” would be short for forecast model. Out of the two, only ECMWF is listed as a “Forecast Model” on the main menu as seen here:
So what is the difference when they are all forecast models? All forecast models are models, but not all models are forecast models even though they are labeled as such? Some at the bottom and some on the main menu. Just models everywhere. Selecting MBLUE, AROME, any of the ICONs, and NEMS will always revert back to ECMWF when a day is selected or the home icon is clicked. As you can see below, my settings showed ICON and wind.
I closed the app, waited 30 seconds, reopened the app, and clicked on a day (below) to see the forecast and saw that the very inaccurate ECMWF model was once again the default.
Why not a independent setting that allows the selection of a default forecast model?

@numerovienas
Default model settings:
It works with Use last overlay
But NOT if you start the app by clicking the widget.
That may be changed in future ?Meteoblue model:
What @Korina said makes sense !
METEOBLUE is not available as a gridded model but only at point forecast. As a Swiss you should know it: Does Meteoblue shows this model as a map in their application ? NO.
They only shows ICON, NEMS…More explanation given by Meteoblue about the model they call Meteoblue AI:
