Why does Windy use the colonialistic Mercator Projection which distorts the proportions?

@shalju Hello, yes, we do currently use Mercator projection. The distortion however does not affect the accuracy of our forecast.

The Mercator projection is not a colonialist projection !
It is the best projection for navigation because it ikeeps angles right. If you are not happy with it, you can use the 3D mode which is available on Windy.com website.
