This is NOT a bug, just the default setting for Satellite layer. It shows the brightness temperature of cloud tops. You can change it for °C or °F in Settings. -

K = °C + 273.15
thus 315K = 42 °C -

2 hours after the first post,
surface skin temperatute has increased (risen) to 48 C.
