I've come here following an OSM help question. That cited information here that said "Windy places data is sourced from OpenStreetMap" - it's even an FAQ entry.
While this may be the general case, we (OpenStreetMap's Data Working Group) get numerous complaints about invalid placenames in Windy's maps and apps, and in most or all of those examples OSM is not at fault.
Looking at the most recent example, Izmit has been called Izmit since 2018 and has never been called Nicomedia (except in Latin).
Can the FAQ entry please be corrected to indicate in which cases Windy does NOT source names from OSM? Windy support have been cc:ed on a number of previous problems and so should have details of those.
