Start-up Layer setting doesn't stick
-
When I set my Start-up layer in Settings to "Weather radar", the next few times I return to windy.com, it honors that setting. However, after a seemingly random period of time, that setting returns to "Wind". Sometimes it's a month later, and sometimes it's a day or two later, but it always seems to happen eventually.
I am usually visiting windy.com using Safari on Mac OS. I also use the iOS app, but have not yet seen this issue there.

@dannydk Hello, the initial settings may change if you for example accidentally tampered with settings. Could that be possible?
-
@korina I don't believe that's the case. However, I'm not really sure in what way I could accidentally tamper with settings. Are these settings stored locally in my browser's cookies or with my windy.com account?
Generally, the only time I visit the settings is when I discover that they have reverted to the default. Because the problem has been intermittent, it's been difficult for me to discover any patterns, but it does seem to happen more if I haven't visited the site for a while.

@dannydk Hello, the saved layer using "Use last overlay" will stay on until you click on another layer, then the settings changes. This might be the behaviour you are experiencing.
-
@korina It's defintely not the behavior I am experiencing. Please see the my original post:
"When I set my Start-up layer in Settings to "Weather radar" ..."It happened again today. When I loaded the website, the initial layer was "Wind". I checked the settings, and the start up layer was indeed set to "Wind". I set it back to "Weather radar" again. So, the setting stuck for about a month and then reverted to the default.
Interestingly, that's the only setting that reverts. All my other settings seem to persist as I have set them.

@dannydk Hello, if you do not visit Windy for more than 7 days, the local storage of Safari deletes your previous settings for the particular device (mac/app). This is the reason why you see your settings changed after a while.
-
@korina Ok. That makes sense. So, it is stored locally. Interesting that only that one setting gets lost. Perhaps the other customizations are stored with my account?
Thanks for shedding light on this.

@dannydk Could you please let me know what are your other settings e.g. temp units, location etc.? Thank you
