Link Webcams to FAA in Alaska
-
They say a picture is worth a thousand words! So, why not link windy with the faa webcams!? This would be super beneficial for Alaska pilots, who are a major user of Windy. Love Windy - keep up the great work!

@perbr
Very good idea.
FAA weathercams are very useful for aviators
(not only in Alaska, there are such cameras in Canada and Colorado)

..... for each location there is a map for the direction the camera points
..... and the actual view provided side by side with a reference image of a day with unlimited visibility

Hello everyone, 😎
I'm interested in linking webcams to the FAA in Alaska to improve aviation safety in the region. I think this could be a valuable tool for pilots to check weather conditions and visibility before takeoff or landing.
Has anyone had any experience with linking webcams to the FAA or any other aviation authority? I'm wondering what the process entails and if there are any guidelines or regulations that need to be followed.
Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

@samwinchester @perbr @pipiolox @Gkikas-LGPZ Hello, we don't have access to these webcams from FAA, so importing them is impossible.

@Korina Can you elaborate on not having access? I made a few submissions directly in Windy over the last few days. Can the FAA webcam network not be accessed in Czechia?
