Hi Windy, is there any update on this? Would be great to have the UKMO model included on Windy!

        Thanks,

@jmawer Hello, UKV model is already available on Windy, but the local one.

@Korina Will there be an integration of Global UKMO-10 (10km resolution) into Windy in the near future?

@anthony10 It is not out of the question, obviously, but there is no timeline now.

Adding my support to this request. Would love to see the UKMO Global model added to Windy.

I've used it previously on PredictWind and it was typically quite good for us here in NZ.

                  Thanks

@Korina Fingers crossed that the UKMO-10 Global model is still being considered to be implemented into Windy soon? :)

Does anyone know if the UKMO global model data is free? If yes, is there any https or ftp address available to download the global model gribs?

I suggest you ask to the MetOffice.

@anthony10 Just thought I would restart this thread.
Meteologix, Pivotalweather, Meteoblue and WXCharts all use UKMO-10.

What's the spatial resolution of UKMO10 model?

@Gkikas-LGPZ It has a spatial resolution of 10 km and delivers forecast data for 144 hours.

Well... windy provides ECMWF in 9km (globally). Adding UKMO-10 will give us better forecasts or more confusion?

@Gkikas-LGPZ I know ECMWF is the gold standard but having more global models like UKMO-10 with its own calculations is only a good thing for Windy users. It would help in cross check against the models available. Plus it helps not having all our eggs in one basket.

@anthony10 It's always good to see the different outcomes across the models visually.

What do your maps prove? That the UKMO model provides cumulative precipitation forecasts? This does not prove that they are accurate.
Or is it just to promote competing apps.
                                          And what about ACCESS ?

@idefix37 It wasn't to prove accuracy or promote competing apps (competition is always a good thing for the end user).
I was showing that different models have different outcomes (which may help forecasters) and the only 2 platforms that display UKMO10 are Meteologix and Meteoblue. "It's always good to see the different outcomes across the models visually."

No need to get defensive, I love Windy and it's my #1 weather platform, I'd like to see Windy grow and continue to be the preferred weather app.

                                            :)
