Map zooms out when selecting weather display

An annoying feature is that any time one selects a location from favorites or by dropping a pin on the map, the map zooms out all the way. Is there any way to stop this behavior?

@brianb-2 Hello, are you talking about the desktop or the app? Because the map does not zoom out when you select favorite or put the picker on the map.
