Feature request for cloud base
-
Cloud base (the helicopter symbol) is the hight of clouds AGL, of 50% or more coverage.
I am a VFR pilot, and although I legally can fly in 0-50% cloud coverage, I still need to stay clear of the clouds, preferably with a considerable margin, and it's practically not possible to zig-zag between the clouds with 200km/h speed if 50% of the sky is covered. So for flight planing I can not use cloud base.
I do use low level clouds, that show me cloud coverage below 5.000ft AGL.It would be really nice, if I could adjust cloud base to under 50%, say 0-5-15-30%
That way I would be able to use cloud base for what altitude I can expect to fly in - realistically.Other than that, a wonderful site that gives a good overall view of the aviation weather.
I still use METAR and TAF just prior to departure, but for planing a few days ahead Windy is (almost) perfect. -
