Turn off lightning sound iPad app

Please add option to turn off lightning sound on iPad using the windy app. I’m a premium user but can’t find setting for it anywhere. It’s really annoying sound to me. Thanks.

@korina the sound is like little insects chirping and negatively impacts my use of the app. Thank you and hopefully you add an option which surely is a trivial thing.

Just wanted to say I agree. This needs to be added. It's neat at first but unnecessary especially if you're looking at a large area.

As of January 2023 the lightning sound is still on by default with no setting to disable it. It is totally unecessary and very annoying. As a premium user I find it irritating to be paying for an app that thinks it's ok to play these noises by default.

@coloado_yeti We are working on new version for all devices, and this should be included. I think the release would be in a couple of weeks.

hey there. I would be very happy if you could simply add that mute button (like on iPhone). For me its a nightmare to hear that noise every time.
It´s such a great app! Could you please do us that favor?
I cannot imagine that this will be a huge invest of money nor time…? :)

Two years later -- PLEASE make it possible to turn off the lightning sounds.
I'm rather that surprised that it hasn't been possible to add such a straightforward setting for multiple years!

@bezoarboy Hi, it is planned to add this. It should be newly possible in the new layer Radar+, then also in other layers.
