    convective cloud base feature request

      cloud base is being shown AGL, but where I fly, the Owens Valley, surrounded by some of the tallest mountains in the 48 States, AGL is pretty meaningless as it varies so widely and wildly. On the other hand cloud base is typically constant across the mountains and valleys, so reporting it ASL makes more sense.

      Also I want to know where the actual base is, not where its 50% covered, as typically we fly when its less than 25% covered but need to know what the base is for that 25%.

      What I'm really asking for is the convective cloud base, at what altitude ASL does the air temp drop below the dew point.

        Very good points! It would be great to get cloud base in MSL

          As you are focusing on convective cloud feature, doesn’t the Thermal layer be a way to have an estimation this level AMSL?
