      radar and satellite view would look great in 3D mode

        The 3D mode in Windy is not a three-dimensional image of the atmospheric layer. The 3D is available in browser version on desktop, but it is to show the maps on a globe without the deformation of plane projection maps.
        Except very special data, Radar nor Satellite data are not available in three-dimension i.e. integrating the vertical dimension.
