Radar zoom level default

I know from a past post here that default zoom for radar (or any view as they so kindly pointed out) is not available in this app. Period. End of conversation, apparently. It is a shame, because seeing a map that shows half the United States is really unnecessary - and rather downright frustrating to have to keep pinching to get to your city. I live in a part of the country where it can quite literally be a downpour across the street and my yard is dry and where lightning actually kills people every year. I do not care if it is raining in the next city — never mind on the other side of the country. And I cannot imagine a situation where anyone would unless they were traveling. So, why a default zoom level is not available is perplexing. I only wish I had noticed this before becoming a subscriber.

@tamanzi Hi, I understand that non-existence of the zoom option might be frustrating. I can assure you that we gather all the feedback, so the zoom level can be part of some future release.
