More Payment Options Please 🙏
-
[It would be awesome if the developers could implement other payment options like Bitcoin it’s LightningNetwork. It’s easily enabled and would allow users the option of paying the developers without third parties taking a cut all the time. It would also allow us the users to pay you directly in a form of money that’s non-inflating and uncensorable. It’s also easy to implement BTCPayServer for instant exchange to the currency of the developers choice like USD however it would allow anyone using this payment method a far easier, faster and more instant payment option. Also allow us to reward developers for the added features they produce making it a truly free market. I love the addition of features and I’d love to be able to reward those that develop those features on a P2P basis. There’s more details on implementation here https://btcpayserver.org/
Thanks 🙏 for this amazing app and all you do. From a professional mariner this app is hands down the best for weather forecasting!

Hello, @jasongar
Thank you for the suggestion. Right now, we do not plan any changes in payment methods.
Best Regards, David

I have been deferring a subscription because it is not possible to pay with Bitcoin. Today I decided to subscribe with card regardless. But I am unable to go premium because card payment gives me "We are unable to take payment at this time. Please try again, or use a different payment method", tried more than one card.
Can you please reconsider adding Bitcoin payment option?

@vd We use three subscription management tools, Paddle, Google Play and AppStore. They offer means of payment by themselves. We won't affect this.
What device did you use to try the card payment? -
@Suty I used a web browser. I guess that means "Paddle".
Mixing two topics here - one is my failed attempt to pay with credit card. I would say ditch this topic, I will "try again later" (eh) or will open another thread about it.
The other topic is about Bitcoin payments. That's the OP. I understand that automatic renewal cannot work with Bitcoin. The one time payment can work just fine and would be an excellent addition to an already excellent Windy.
Thinking about it - automatic renewal is flawed also with credit cards, if we consider virtual one-time cards. A user can use a one-time card and get the lower price and choose automatic renewal and the renewal will never work after 1 year.

@vd But I want to say that we don't set those rules about offered means of payment, because these platforms we use, offer their own ways and it is completely up to them.
