Extremely Annoying pop-up!! What's new: version 37
-
I just realised I have seen the "What's new: version 37" pop-up about a hundred times. What is going on? Why am I seeing this every time I go to Windy.com? Are you crazy? Get this thing off my screen! I don't want to see this ugly annoying pop-up.
Thank you! -
@wookieechewbacca
It disappears at first click on screen. So it’s not a big deal. -
@idefix37 - It is a big enough deal for someone to take the time to write your about it. Maybe you should not be in customer service. I swear on my grandmother's sweet soul, I have rarely seen in my fairly long life a company that takes such an aggressive, contentious attitude with its customers in your "feedback" section. It is not just this comment you made. It is so many others. Why don't you go to other company websites and see how often they denigrate customers or try to contradict their personal experience.

Hello @Bruzote ,
The "What's new" popup should only appear once per device, and if it appears multiple times in a row, it is a bug. Where exactly are you seeing multiple times in a row? ( if it's the browser, please specify which one)We only show the "What's new" popup on significant changes where we're bringing news to premium users as well, so we think you might be interested in new features you can use.
Feedback from users is very valuable to us, and from what we know, users are happy when we inform them of changes from time to time.
Thank you.

@SimonUrbanek - Do you not see how a customer said s/he/them sees this screen over and over, "hundreds" of times, and the moderator response was "it's no big deal"?! And then you go ahead and ignore that and instead do the gaslight pivot by talking about how happy customers are. I don't think any customers are happy when they have to see such a screen hundreds of times or when they get dismissed with the comment that it is "no big deal". And I certainly don't appreciate someone responding to my comment with 1984 double-speak by wholly ignoring my point and just saying the customers are happy. I stood up for your customer. You might also think about doing that rather than doubling on down on double-plus-good happy talk. If you ever choose to do that, then you will find everybody wins.

@idefix37 When you see it literally a hundred times, it is a very big deal. It is a deal-breaking deal. I do not wish to click this pop-up away every time I visit the website.
Create a cookie or something to remember that this thing was shown, so that it is shown only ONCE. -
Hello guys, sorry to hear that. Pop-up shouldn't be showing "hundred times", but just once per device/browser.
Can you please specify your OS and browser, and device, where the pop-up is showing multiple times? We take a look at what's wrong.
Thank you. Best Regards, David

WIndows 11 Pro, version 22H2, OS build: 22622.598, Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22634.1000.0
MIcrosoft Edge Version 107.0.1375.0Just one note, I opened Windy.com just now and the pop-up did not show up. It would pop up every time the website was started from a new tab. I am quite convinced you did something, which is good.

Question: How does Windy identify a device? The pop up was annoying me too. In Windows 11 with Firefox use a group to open 6 Windy tabs at the start of day and I was seeing the popup on all of them. It didn't surprise me that I would the pop up after closing the browser and restarting it and / or restarting the computer because I am using the option on my VPN to change my IP (I think it does that every 5 - 10 minutes.) I think it is more secure / private, but there disadvantages like for a site where I want to check inventory at a local brick and mortar store, I always have to change the store location from the city my IP indicates to the store I want in my city. -
@ChipB137 Hello, the information about the pop-up is saved to the storage. If your storage gets deleted, then the pop-up shows again.
