Unneeded welcome flooding of messages

Why does my account start with 32 unread messages? This is annoying and takes the focus off the important ones.

@Johannes-Schoenheinz-Ꮟⴲꨂ-Ꮞ Hello, if you are talking about community. Those red numbers are not messages, but posts that are unread.
Your direct messages are in the top right corner.

@Korina Can you tell me how to shut off the “Community” posts? I’m not interested in having 38 unread messages/posts.

@SONIA-RMH Hello, you do not need to read those posts if you don't want to. If you want to get rid of them, go to Unread -> Topic tools -> Mark unread for all.
