I love windy for tracking storms via the euro model, and I just discovered I can have weather for a specific address in it as well, but so far windy isn’t accurate at all as far as wind and rain

As an example currently windy is showing 38mph sustained winds with gusts 61, but the actual wind is 11mph with gusts 26mph

They use NOAA and filter out all the birds, dust, and other noise/interference, it is the most accurate to the minute weather I have seen so far, and in Florida that’s saying a lot

Thank you I’ll test it, but they say that they use more or less the same weather models as Windy, so difficult to imagine this app is precise to the minute.

Concerning Ian, weather models are not able to predict the right wind intensity in a hurricane zone. The NHC use special hurricane models, in addition they integrate aircraft recon observation and Dvorak analyse based on satellite views to make an estimate of max sustained winds (over 1-minute) which are higher than the averaged winds as used in normal weather advisories and provided by weather models.

Could we know which app are you talking about which gives high precision local forecast?

Are your question and remarks in connection with hurricane Ian?

BTW weather models providing forecasts with 1-hour step cannot be precise to the minute.
For rain you can estimate the rainfall in the next few minutes by looking at weather radar.

For storm tracking nothing I have found is better, but current weather and forecasts not so much, especially the forecasted/current winds for the storm

Have you tried and compared the different weather models. If you speak about sustained wind and mph, you are probably in North America. There are 5 models available in USA area and 6 in local forecast. Try HRRR which offers a higher resolution and the other ones too.
