It's great that all the forecast models are there, but having to change to my local one gets annoying every time I want to check the weather. Thanks in advance.

Not only is the model not persisted across restarts, it is not saved even when switching between Rain, thunder (uses model) and Weather radar (no model). It always reverts to ECMWF after I have selected GFS.

Being Premium user, you can select the layer, and so the model, you want at start up. In Settings select Use last overlay.

It works if you don’t start Windy with the widget and if you still have the same layer and model displayed when you quit the app. Otherwise the last overlay is considered as new default for next time.
