10 day forecast gone

what are all of these weather apps that people are talking about?
I have yet to find one that has a 10-day forecast, let alone a way to compare multiple models during these timeframes.... -

No worries. Yr the Norwegian site offers the 10 day euro for free.
-
@evolab I understand your point, but we are not like other weather sites, so we chose a different direction.
-
@evolab No, even the ECMWF weather model is included in other services forecasts like Weather Underground, but accompanied with other weather models.
-
@Korina
You are right, as for instance this weather website:
https://www.wunderground.com/about/data
Which explains
Forecast inputs….A variety of inputs, including, but not limited to, ECMWF, GFS, and NAM….mostly GFS and NAMThey surely use the free version of the ECMWF with a low resolution of 40 km, not the HiRes one with 9km resolution which is not free but expensive.

@Ahmed-A-AS See the @idefix37 reply, it is precisely what I am talking about.
-
@idefix37 The poster talks generally about the ECMWF model, and not a specific one. Calm it down, mate.
-
@Korina I see, gimme more time to read, I am not working here.

@Korina said in 10 day forecast gone:
ve various subscriptions, so in the end, it is a question of priorities
Hi. Is there a corporate subscription that can be purchased instead of individual users?

The ability to compare multiple models in one place with, lets face it, incredible ease...is not and has never been a free service. As far as I know anyway (I could be wrong). Currently, windy does this for free for 6 days.
Around my area of concern, with a couple of clicks I can cross reference 6 different guidance models (some of which are not public) and develop my own thoughts on the weather picture. Another couple of clicks and I get to see which airports are VFR/LIFR/IFR to gain some current conditions, while giving me an idea of the synoptic pressure patterns, and at the same time choose between a multitude of different layers to get an idea of what a model is saying might happen.
Do people have any idea how AMAZING this capability is?!
And honestly, one of the bests parts for me personally is I don't have to look at ads. I don't have some big box blocking my view while hogging my bandwidth and shoving products down my throat.
I'll save my pennies and gladly get premium when able. This team deserves the support.

@evolab And the worst thing is that they are only recognize money as a support.
-
@evolab You who got me wrong! I am talking about various ways of support rather than praising and myself and many others have involved in, but, at the backstage.
-
@evolab
In my experience, the ability to investigate the multiple different guidance models that Windy has included so far plus get current conditions on one page has never been a free service.Also, I don't think you understand just how much I personally hate ads ahahaha
-
@andydraz Hi, we don't offer corporate subscription at the moment.
-
@Korina
I want to clarify my post here above.
10-day forecasts are now only available for Premium users. Those who complain about it, say that these forecasts are free in other apps. This is true for GFS but not for the high resolution ECMWF model as provided by Windy.
You know that the fees for accessing ECMWF Hi Res model data are terribly high.
Most of weather apps displaying the ECMWF model use in fact the downgraded resolution version which is actually free but with a resolution of 0.4° or about 40 km. It is called WMO essentials because it offers a limited number of parameters as listed by WMO:
https://www.ecmwf.int/en/forecasts/datasets/wmo-essential
So it is important to specify that Windy uses the ECMWF Hi Res model (which by the way is really called IFS, ECMWF being the name of the Center) -
@evolab The consolidation of many different guidance models and the ability to analyze and compare them has never been a free service. This is where the value is. I'm guessing you've never spent money for this ability in order to professionally develop weather forecasts - I have, so I see the value in what they've built.
Anyone with internet service gets to analyze both publicly funded and paid for model data.....efficiently, for free, for the most accurate timeframes of all models.
