How windy is visualizing data?

Does anyone know how windy.com is visualizing rainfall and temperature data ? Are they doing interpolation and displaying the raster here on the map? I have this data as point shapefile and I am applying IDW interpolation on point data using python but resulting raster is not as smooth like the data in windy.com . How are they doing it. I am inspired by this and want to do a personal project of visualizing this data for my country as well as learn how to visualize meteorological data. I just wanna know if windy.com is doing interpolation on the data or some other technique.
