Widget appears to be frozen
-
For the past few days (maybe a week) the widget seems to be frozen. I compare it to the radar map in the app, and it's very obvious. Plus I can just look at the sky and if it's (say overcast with snow) it definitely doesn't show this on the widget radar map. Just thought you should know so as to keep Windy the best weather app on android! Cheers.

I'll second this.
I'm using Weather Radar Widget on an Android app v.38.0.0
When I hit the play button the time reflects the current time, the time steps through as it should, but the image doesn't change. -
Hi @Michael-Wilson @Wheats I will discuss the issue with colleagues and keep you posted.
-
Hi, I have an update. All versions of widgets should be fixed at this moment.
-
It appears that there has been a lot of activity and updates regarding widgets. It is not so clear where and when one should have expected resolution.
I have a Galaxy A13 and the radar widget seems to be frozen. Hitting play runs but does nothing. The update button runs but does nothing.
I have tried shutting down, restarting, reinstalling, adjusting permissions and various other settings to find a clue but am now wondering if there is an image file I could delete to make the radar update? I have a static image from the day I put the widget on the home screen.
Thanks! -
Hi @metamapper, do you have this issue with all widgets from Windy, or is it about a specific one? Please let me know.
-
@metamapper my widget is frozen as well. For about a day now.
-
@Stevie-Crow @metamapper can you please let us know which widgets have the problem in your case?
-
@Ondřej-Šutera I am using the satellite widget on a S22 Ultra. The times cycle through, and it updates fine, but it is just one image that got frozen on the screen. Also, it is frozen in Blue and Infra Plus mode. Thanks.

@Stevie-Crow Can you share your location, please? You can do that via direct message here if you don't want to share this info publicly.
-
@Ondřej-Šutera it's alright. I am in Columbia, South Carolina.
-
Hi @Stevie-Crow @metamapper can you please test the functionality by removing and adding the widget back again? Our colleagues made some changes that should help to fix this. Please let us know.
-
@Ondřej-Šutera will do now. Thanks
-
@Ondřej-Šutera I tried it, and it remains frozen in all of the frames, starting at 7:00am, but becomes unfrozen and up to date with just the last frame @ 9:20am.
